thought fields print series ii

this series of prints are still images from thought fields : a work created by artist and writer mollie caffey
hosted by the online publication the HTML Review

thought fields is an entire world comprised of three realms, each center on their own visual diagram of a conceptual framework and communicate through distinct aesthetics in relation to the framework.

“series ii” are prints of the three separate but intricately connected “fields” which are digital layers of signs, symbols, and images that create an  atmosphere of information, which can be rotated and shuffled, utilizing scale and transparency to reveal the way that memory and association melt and blend to create an entire notion or present perspective, philosophy.

below the image is a caption written by the artist - a poetic and prosaic proposals to reach further into the work;
to perceive beyond the singular frame of the print: the very intention of thought fields itself.

each thought reads :

deep sea :
deep sea creatures from millions of years ago left fossils that look so similar to aliens from science fiction and what if these aliens are an interpretation of past life forms the memories of which are imbedded in our DNA and revealed when the unconscious surfaces; all the imagined biological tekknos is right here on earth, thought fields, 2024

clouds :
bodies can be made solid liquid gas and a brain sits in its own fluid needing constant hydration as if in a constant state of gestation. have you ever noticed a cat can look like a bird a reptile a rat. why is it so impossible that there were lizards who could breathe fire? afterall there is electricity running the curved line of your spine, thought fields, 2024

mirrors :
there may be no explanation for the desire to replicate but in variation to make something that already exists but in new material or to circle back on forms but take away their (initial) function to repeat reprint recast to melt down flip around here in a world which mirrors, thought fields, 2024

newsprint, 12” x 18”
